Twenty years ago, Ramsey Judd, a Union soldier during the Civil War, ran away in the middle of battle. Under an assumed name, he was forced to keep on running to avoid being apprehended and charged with desertion. Now, pushing old age and faced with his own mortality, he decides he's tired of running and starts the long journey home. Along the way, he stops in a little place in Idaho to pay his respects to the girl he left behind. But things are not as Ramsey expected. He finds himself searching for a daughter he didn't know he had, kidnapped by her mother as a vendetta for the wrongs she feels she was done all those years ago.

This is the story of one man's struggles to rebuild his life, reclaim his dignity and his identity, and to set things right with the ones he loves.

I thoroughly enjoyed your book. It was written in a charming way as to capture my attention from the beginning.  I could not put it down.  I haven't read a western novel in years, but yours interested me in that the setting was local and I could envision the locations. Great piece of work. - Jerry

This is an excellent read! A few minor errors slipped by the editor, but do NOT affect the story. Historical/cultural society truthfully protrayed. Believable characters! - Kt
